The Color Purple
I suppose I misspoke. This is not about the color purple, it is more of a dusty lilac mauve. I apologize for the blue balls.
Attached are two images containing color swatches. The color purple I am referring to here can be any of these.
I have recently felt an energetic pull towards this color and I think it will make a fabulous pop of "yuh" for the upcoming seasons. When I typically see a color like this, my mind synchronizes it with the warmer seasons. However, I have recently been stunned by the way this color compliments the dullness of the colder seasons.
This color is feminine but also strong. It feels quiet luxury.
I believe we will soon see lots of designers beginning to utilize this color in unexpected ways but also extremely tacky and trendy ways (Eventually - as we see with every trend). But this wont happen until post-winter/early spring, after being drained through the influencers and trickling down to forever21.
We can hit it first though girls don't worry.
If this is a color that you feel may wash you out, you have two options. a) go with the wash out and be a fair skin doe, or b) utilize this color in a way that isn't in direct contact with your flesh.
As elements of 2014-2016 aesthetics have begun resurfacing in the aesthetic industry, this color will play off of that trend but in a way that is muted and sophisticated.
Colors that you already have to pair with this: army green, white, black, brown, navy blue - essentially look for colors in nature (that aren't fucking red). Along with this, patterns and textures of these colors would play nicely into this by adding a peck of boho.
Lana Del Rey has already been seen in this color at Paris Fashion Week last night. So keep celebs/influencers in your peripheral for hints of this dusty lilac mauve of ours.
Take visual notes always and keep an eye out for this color as you shop. I'll update you with my finds too.
